Penguin Day

Yesterday was Penguin Day at Wheeler’s preschool.  They dressed a penguins, had a waddle contest, and marched through the school in a Penguin Parade. Apparently, Wheeler wowed the parents with his knowledge of penguin types and facts. Wowed other kids’ parents. Because I wasn’t there. Wheeler told me last night, “Other families were there. But my family wasn’t.” It broke my heart.  I had three classes, meetings…but I could have skipped lunch and gone for a bit .And I didn’t. I was tweaking a powerpoint.

The next big party/event is St. Patrick’s Day. I won’t let Wheeler come home saying his family wasn’t there.
